Emilio Cadena, CEO of Grupo Prodensa, investment attraction firm, highlights that the country's industrial zones are living in an historic moment, and that the Mexican government needs to invest in electrical infrastructure, both in the generation as well as the transmission and distribution.
"We also need to focus on water infrastructure, including access to treated water, as well as logistics and border infrastructure. Another major issue is the speed of starting up new businesses, from incorporation to operating permits, the IMMEX program (for export manufacturers), and VAT and IEPS certification. We need to ensure compliance but with agility. This is a critical issue of legal certainty."
