The Austrian-American company began operations in Zacatecas, where the manufacturing plant will generate approximately 40 jobs with expansion possibilities.
The new plant will be responsible of producing automotive parts for this particular industry, according to the director of Metal Forming, Peter Schwab; the government of Zacatecas provided with favorable conditions and will help the internationalization strategy.
Mexico Voestalpine division sums up to 13 floors with 565 employees and an investment worth $200 million global; Zacatecas plant has 3,000 square meters and five high-tech machines. Grupo Prodensa has supported Voestalpine Rotec during the initial analysis, incentives negotiations and the start-up process.
According to Tomas Esguerra, manager of the local plant Voestalpine Rotec, Mexico is set to become the new business center for car manufacturing and its components.
Voestalpine Rotec emerges as a leader in the automotive and consumer goods in Europe, as well as a company involved in aerospace, oil and gas. The company has its headquarters in Linz, Austria; covering up to 50 countries of 5 continents, with over 500 companies as clients and over fifty thousand employees worldwide. This company covers 4 different areas; steel, high-performance metal, metal engineering and metal forming.
Esguerra also said that it is not only about an investment, but also to create quality jobs as the salaries are contemplated to be higher than the average in the state, which will allow to strengthen the economic activities in Zacatecas as well as the environmental care.
